It is Finished!
Many of us know the feeling of leaving things unfinished: An unfinished book; an unfinished assignment; an unfinished project; an unfinished dietary regiment, the list goes on. Some things can be left unfinished and no harm will come (except perhaps our injured pride). But some things left unfinished can bring us great pain and suffering. We live in a universe that is made by a holy and righteous God. In such a world, unfinished goodness and incomplete righteousness can bring unending suffering to others and to ourselves. But on Good Friday, the Lord Jesus finished what most needs to be done—he put away our sins and reconciled us to God.
